The Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities represents over 60 congregations in an interfaith effort to meet the needs of the community.
Zion's United Church of Christ supports the work of The Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities by regular donations of food, clothing, and money. In addition, our pastor serves on the Board of Directors and several of our members serve as delegates at the monthly delegate meetings.

Community Meals are another service that is offered through The Cluster.  Meal are hosted at several area churches and are prepared and served by various congregations.  Zion's Church has a strong group of committed volunteers who prepare a meal on the fourth Friday of each month. If you would like to volunteer, please call the church office.
Homeless Shelter - Zion's Church has hosted a shelter in partnership with Ministries at Main Street for one winter month  for each of the last three years.

For more information about our experience with the shelter, read the following article reprinted from The Mercury, May 18, 2008.
The Homeless Shelter Project
Zion's members have participated in The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life since it began in the Pottstown area. Each year teams are formed and members walk the track to raise awareness and money for cancer research. If you would like to join a team, please call the church office.
The CROP Walk is another way in which Zion's members support both The Cluster of Religious Communities and the community. Each year members form a team and join with other churches and organizations to walk approximately 6 miles through Pottstown to raise funds to fight local and world hunger.

The Prayer Chain is a special ministry in which members regularly lift before God the needs of those requesting prayers. A name is only placed on the list  with the permission of the person recieving prayers. Specific conditions are not listed unless requested by the recipient. Names are removed from the list after a period of three months unless a request is made to remain on the list. If you desire to be placed on the prayer list, please call the church office.

Member to Member Visitation Ministry is a way for our members to strengthen ties with other members whose ability to leave their homes is limited. Volunteers visit homebound members once every four to six weeks. If you would like to volunteer for this important ministry, please call the church office.
